Top attractions
• There are two settlements on the island: Porto is at the port and Capraia Isola (which locals call Paese) in the center. You can walk for 15 minutes to get from one to the other or take the local bus which start from the port, right after every ferry arrives and travellers disembark. The ticket costs 1€.
Forte di San Giorgio at the port is one of the most recognisable monuments in Capraia. It was built in 1540 and at its base, in front of the sea, you can see the tower Torreta al Bagno.
• At the centre of the island you can see the remains of the Catholic Church Santo Stefano. Along with the San Constanzo church at the port, they are the oldest ones in Capraia.

Top beaches
• All beaches are small, rocky and isolated. Il Frate is very close to the port and has a small deck and a ladder to aloe for easier access to the water.
Cala San Francesco is glamorous and features turquoise waters. It's 1 km from the port, below the Torre del Porto, a castle that was built in 1516.
Cala della Mortola is the only sandy beach on the island. It is only accessible by boat.

Top activities
• The island is one of the top hiking destinations. There are many surprises in its 14 trails: Ancient monuments and rare plants like the french levander and the centaurea, a type of cornflower you can find only here. If you take the walking path from the port you will stumble upon the prison colony where convicts would live in a settlement and farm the grounds. At the port you will find a free map with all the trails.
• Rent a boat and have an island tour. Explore secluded coves, sea caves and deep blue waters through snorkelling and diving.
• The Arcipelago Toscano National Park is made up by its seven islands. Dolphins, seals, a rich underwater kingdom with sea anemones and meadows of posidonia, are waiting to be explored.

Tip: You can reach the port on foot, by bus or by ferry. Although cars are allowed on the island, you won't see any. You can move around by bus, sea taxis or simply walk. Discover wild Italian landscapes with cheap ferry tickets to Capraia through Let’s Ferry.
