Attractions in Liepaja
• At the Liepaja Museum (Liepājas muzejs) you can see exhibits from Latvia’s history and culture. It first opened its gates to the public in 1937 and it has free admission.
• The Karosta Prison Museum (Karostas cietums) is not an ordinary museum. At the former legendary prison, now you can visit the escape room, see sketches with actors and listen to real life stories.
• Visit the gallery Romas Dārzs, which hosts paintings from the 20th century and, in its impressive basement, see exhibitions and events.
• The Liepājas Svētās Trīsvienības evaņģēliski luteriskā katedrāle is a cathedral close to the port. It was built in the 18th century and has the world’s oldest mechanical church organ.
• See the impressive fortress Ziemeļu Forts at the Karosta coast. It is part of the Liepaja Fortress. Take a selfie at the most famous parts of the fort, the baterija Nr. 1 and the baterija Nr. 3.

Activities in Liepaja
Explore the city with the vintage "Libau Train". The journey lasts 35 minutes and there is an audio guide in Russian or English.
• Visit the park BB Wakepark where you can enjoy many activities like hiking, canoeing, cycling, wakeboard, sauna, etc.
• The Liepaja Beach stretches on an 8 km coast with white sand. The beach has been awarded with a Blue Flag and is close to the port. You can try many water sports like SUP and windsurfing. During the 19th century this was a spa resort for European and Russian aristocrats. One of them was the Tsar.
• The natural reserve Liepājas Ezers is at the Liepaja Lake and is protected by NATURA 2000. More than 50 bird species live in this environment where you can spend some time walking, cycling, fishing, to book a boat ride or do paddleboat.
• The Beberliņi park is in Karosta. This natural scenery is ideal for swimming, picnics and hiking as it is full of tall trees and dunes.

: You can reach the port by car, plane, train, tram, ferry or bus. Liepaja’s airport is 8 km away and Riga’s airport is 210 km away.
Jelgava is 180 km away. Liepaja to Jelgava is 3 hours by car or train and 4 hours by bus.
Riga is 215 km away. Liepaja to Riga by car, train or bus is about 3 hours.
Daugavpils is 430 km away. Liepaja to Daugavpils is 6 hours by car, 7,5 hours by train and 8 hours by car.
