What to visit
• Count the stars that decorate the dome of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. Despite its name, there is solid evidence that empress Galla isn’t buried there. Hide a guide to learn the story of this, the independent and dynamic daughter of Theodosius the Great.
• At the catholic Neonian Baptistery, the interior walls are decorated with amazing mosaics, depicting the Baptism of Christ at Jordan river.

Where to swim
• Aloha is a popular organized beach near the port, with restaurants, sunbeds and water sports facilities like canoe and aqua yoga.
• Casal Borsetti is a seaside town, north of Ravenna. This tourist resort has a stunning sandy beach, canals, restaurants and open-air markets.
• Spend a fascinating day at Punta Marina Terme, 15 km from the port. Some of the things you can do here are sunbathe, play beach volley, kite surf or relax at the thermal springs.

Activities
• Horse riding at the green Valley of Ravenna and its long coastline. 
• Walking or cycling at the pine tree forest of Classe, near the Basilica of Sant’ Apollinare. The poet Dante Aligheri once wandered here.
• Walk, ride a bike, take a boat ride, or enjoy some horseback riding at the Po Delta Park. It’s Europe’s second largest wetland with small lakes, flamingos and other rare species.
