• The Turku Castle (Turun linna) is next to the Aura River. It was built in 1280.
• The Medieval Avenue (Luostarin Välikatu) is a historical area. In a short distance from there you can see the Old Great Square (Vanha Suurtori), Brinkkala – a historical building, and the Medieval market (Keskiaikaiset markkinat).
• The Pharmacy Museum and Qwensel house (Apteekkimuseo ja Qwenselin talo) is housed in a wooden edifice that was built in 1700.

• The Saaronniemen uimaranta is sandy, with a camping area as well as beach volley and badminton courts.
• The Ekvalla is sandy and organized. You will find a café, toilets, changing rooms, a lifeguard, a playground and a beach volley court.

Activities in Turku
• Run, walk, cycle next to the Aura, the river that runs through the city.
• Rent a Låna, a ferry that takes up to 8 people, for a river cruise. You can also have a picnic on the boat.
• Rent a canoe to visit the islets close to the port. Practice on your canoe skills while seeing unspoilt natural sceneries.
• If you must choose one island to visit, this should be Ruissalo Island. It’s a nature reserve and one of the most important forests in Finland. On this island you can swim, hike or do birdwatching.
