Boats from/to Piraeus, Paros, Naxos and Ios run every day. There are boats to Kythnos, Tinos, Folegandros, daily. There are connections to Heraklion, Anafi, Skiathos, Sikinos, Mykonos, Thessaloniki, Syros, Serifos and Kimolos.

Astypalea is connected four times a week in summer to Piraeus via Naxos and Paros. A ferry based in Kalymnos, runs thrice weekly, linking the island with Kalymnos and islands further north in the Dodecanese.
