A student pass is necessary to make your reservation and to have a discount on ferries. The reduced prices are valid for Universities, TEI, Open University, AEN and KESEN (Seafarers Further Training Centre) students.

50% discount for persons with special needs, blind persons and their companions
Applies to persons with a disability rate of more than 80% and their assistants/companions (as long as they accompany people with paraplegia-quadriplegia, blindness, mental disability, autism and Down's syndrome). It also applies to wheelchairs.

What is a Transport Equivalent?
It is a measure of the state that aims to equalize the cost of public transport from mainland Greece to an island or from island to island with the cost that would apply in mainland Greece for the same distance. It is valid for routes to and from the island where the beneficiary lives.

What are UIN and A.NI.KO
Each beneficiary has his own UIN (Unique Islander Number). After each trip, the UIN traveler applies for A.NI.KO, the Island Cost Compensation. The amount is deposited into the beneficiary's bank account after a reasonable time. The amount results from the difference of the actual transportation cost of the beneficiary unit from the amount that the same beneficiary unit would pay if it moved in the mainland at the same distances.
Each beneficiary is entitled to a certain number of tickets per year. This depends on the number of inhabitants on the island, the existence of an administrative center and the basic infrastructure on the island to which the measure applies.

• 50% to Vodafone CU subscribers on the full fare for 2 people in all passenger seats [except LUX, PURE and Pet Cabins], for one-way tickets. Each subscriber is entitled to 1 code every 3 months. The code is activated 24 hours after receiving it and remains active for 7 days. The beneficiary must travel within 20 days of receiving the code.
• 50% to fixed and mobile Vodafone subscribers on the full fare for 4 people in a four-bed interior or exterior Cabin (A4 or AB4) or in a Distinguished seat (where available) and not combined (e.g. 2 people in a Cabin and 2 people in Distinguished), for one-way tickets.
Each subscriber is entitled to 1 code per 15 days. The code is activated 24 hours after receiving it and remains active for 15 days. The beneficiary must travel within 20 days of receiving the code.

Discount on ferries with social tourism
Blue Star Ferries
The discount applies to tickets for a single round trip, from 01/08/2022 to 31/07/2023, on all domestic itineraries on the Cyclades, Dodecanese, Sporades, NE Aegean, Argosaronicos and Crete lines, served by the ships of Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways.

Minoan Lines
25% for adults and pensioners, 20% for parents and children. The discount applies to passenger tickets in Deck class (On the Cyclades Economy Line). People with disabilities or reduced mobility do not pay participation.
A necessary condition for the provision of the above discount is the presentation of the "Social Tourism Check - Sea Shipping", which is provided by the Public Employment Service, both when issuing the tickets and when boarding the ship. The presentation of the printed check is necessary on both routes.

Unemployed
• 20% in all passenger seat categories, except A1 and LUX on the Crete and Cyclades lines by Minoan Lines.
• 20% discount on bike or car, as long as the beneficiary is traveling Crete lines with Minoan Lines.
Beneficiary must show ID and unemployment card for discount on ferries. With some companies such as Seajets the indigent ticket discount applies.

Teachers and substitute teachers
Discounts on ferry tickets are available to teachers, permanent staff and substitutes working on islands.
• 50% on the ferry tickets of first grade and second grade substitute teachers for going to their place of appointment. Applies to all seats except LUX.
