Piraeus Metro: Stops and information
Three new stops were completed on line 3. After Nikaia, which until recently was the line's terminal, Maniatika, Piraeus and the Municipal Theater were added.
The new metro station of Piraeus
Maniatika: It is one of the old districts of Piraeus and it got its name because it was inhabited by many people from Mani (Maniates). At the metro station you will find many buses going to Schistos, Korydallos, Terpsithea, Nikaia and Keratsini.
Piraeus: It is the most pivotal stop and the most anticipated one. The question, "when will the Piraeus metro be ready?", was mainly asked by those interested in the Piraeus stop. It is the most central of the line, since it connects the port with Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport where, within 1 hour, you travel without changing lines. Until recently, passengers had to take the train line 1 from Piraeus to Monastiraki and from there hop on line 3 to get to the airport. In addition, line 3 is also connected to the Prostiakos train stop in Piraeus that goes directly to Kiato and the airport, with a connection to Chalkida. For an unforgettable day, you will take a bus from Piraeus to Perama and then the ferry to reach Salamina. The last metro from Piraeus to the airport departs at 22:56, while for Doukissis Placentias it departs at midnight from Sunday to Thursday and at 01:07 on Friday and Saturday.
Municipal Theatre: It is the terminal of line 3 and the most impressive one of them all. The area where the new stop is located is the center of Piraeus, colored by the imposing Municipal Theater and the shops. The streets are all lights and shops, and the tram stop is nearby. By tram you can reach Moschato, Kallithea, Nea Smyrni, Paleo Faliro, Alimos and Voula, via line 7 (Agia Triada – Asklipieio Voula Hospital).
