Skopelos - Mamma mia… what an island!
In the spotlight
Agios Ioannis. One of the 360 churches and monasteries – and the most famous one here. Curved in the rocks of Kastri, it’s a favorite wedding spot for couples from all over the world after “Mamma mia”.

And maybe Kastani became the island’s… dancing beach queen for the same reason, but Chovolo is co-starring with its exotic sand, white rocks and a rich pine forest in the background.
The Venetian Castle in the northern part of the main town is also in the spotlight. You’ll have to battle your way up during sunset to get a panoramic snapshot of the Aegean and the old town (“Chora”) of Skopelos.

“I do I do I do”
Undeniably Abba gave us the biggest dancing hits in the history of music. Skopelos on the other hand, offers the best of outdoor activities. Here’s what you can do:
Hiking. Follow the T1 trail from the port to the monasteries’ shades to cool down and recharge.
Diving. Skopelos’ eye-popping waters are so clear that you barely need a mask to explore them. Well organized diving centers can train beginners or certify experienced divers in the island’s life-rich waters.
Skopelitiki - a traditional local cheese pie
