Attractions in Las Palmas
• The Aquarium (Acuario Poema del Mar) is in a short distance from the port. It has many fish species as well as a restaurant and an events hall.
• The Museum of Science and Technology (Museo Elder de la Ciencia y la Tecnología) has a planetarium and a model space station.
• The Naval Museum (Museo Naval) has many information and objects regarding the naval history and tradition of the island. Admission is free.
• The Columbus House (Casa de Colon) hosts documents from the times of the great explorer on the island.
• Vegueta is a district very close to the port that is known for its traditional Canarian architecture.
• In this area you will find a famous square, the Plaza de Santa Anna as well as the Cathedral of Santa Anna (Catedral de Santa Ana de Canarias Catholic cathedral).

Beaches in Las Palmas
• Playa de la Laja is a sandy beach near the port. Most of the days it is windy and locals go there to surf.
• Las Canteras is organized and popular. You will see many swimmers snorkeling.
• Playa de Bocabarranco is a beach open to the public, ideal for dog walks.

• Beach football and sunbathing at the Playa de las Alcaravaneras, near the port.
• Travel 60 km south from the port, to visit the Maspaloma dunes. Book a camel tour to get a feeling of how a desert is.
• Visit the volcanic canyon Barranco de las Vacas that reminds of the Antelope Canyon in Arizona.
