• The Ethnographic Museum (Museo etnografico - Comune di Palau) has two rooms hosting objects from the country’s history.
• The Fortress Fortezza di Monte Altura was built in the 19th century and sits on a rock.
• Visit the area’s two biggest lighthouses, the Faro di Punta Palau and the Faro di Punta Sardegna.

Beaches in Palau
• Spiaggia dell'Isolotto is the closest to the port. It is sandy and a bit rocky. It is not organised.
• Spiaggia di Nelson has white sand and transparent waters. It is secluded and its shallow waters are ideal for kids.
• Sciumara del Liscia is 15 km from the port. It stretches in an eight-kilometer sandy coast and there you will find a beach bar and schools for sailing and surf.
• Spiaggia di Porto Pollo is a scenic beach and a favourite spot for surfers and kite surfers since it is regularly windy.
• Spiaggia del Golfo delle Saline is a remote, sandy beach. It may not have sunbeds, but it has a surfing school.

• Diving from different areas of Palau like the Stentino di Capo d'Orso and the Mezzo Schifo.
• Hiking and mountain biking at the city park, the Pineta di Palau vecchio.
• Visit the Seagull Island (Isola dei Gabbiani), that you can reach by car. It’s 10 km from the port and has exotic beaches.

Access to Palau: You can reach the port by car, taxi or bus. The International Airport of Alghero is 144 km from the port and the International Airport of Cagliari Elmas is 312 km.
Sassari is 118 km from the port. Palau to Sassari is 2 hours by car and 3,5 hours by bus and train.
Cagliari is 313 km from the port. Palau to Cagliari is 4 hours by car and 5 hours by bus and train.
San Teodoro is 70 km from the port. Palau to San Teodoro is 70 minutes by car and 2 hours by bus.
La Maddalena archipelago, the perfect summer destination
Only in Palau: Take the Green Train (Trenino Verde), to enjoy a scenic natural route. It is 59 km long, it lasts 3,5 hours and starts from the city of Palau and ends at the Tempio Pausania station. The train goes through Gallura, the forests, the Liscia Lake and granite rocks.
