Boy on a Dolphin (1957)
This was the first Hollywood movie shot in Greece and also Sophia Loren’s English-language debut. Set in the island of Hydra, Boy on a Dolphin helped make the island known widely and boost its tourism. The statue seen next to the windmill where Phaedra, the film's main heroine, lived, is a commemorate to Hollywood's mark on the island.

The Guns of Navarone (1961)
The Oscar-winning movie, starring Anthony Quinn, Gregory Peck and the Greek actress Irene Pappas, was partly shot in Rhodes. Some of the movies’ scenes were filmed in the protected settlement of Lindos, the village of Kremastinear the island’s airport, as well as the green Valley of the Butterflies. Zorba the Greek (1961)
The most-talked about scene of the Zorba the Greek film is that of Anthony Quinn dancing syrtaki to the music of Mikis Theodorakis. This emblematic film about the life of Nikos Kazantzakis was shot on location on the island of Crete, in Stavros, at the Akrotiri of Chania. This is one of the least windy and most kid-friendly beaches, widely known as the “Zorba beach” following the movie.

The Greek Tycoon (1978)
The Greek Tycoon movie, starring Anthony Quinn and Jacqueline Bisset, has several scenes shot in Mykonos. The backdrop of the famous Mykonos windmills makes for some unforgettable scenes. Shirley Valentine(1987), starring Pauline Collins, is another movie that was also filmed here. Trivia: after filming several scenes at Agios Ioannis, the beach became known as the Shirley Valentine beach. Last but not least, The Bourne Identity (2002),starring Matt Damon as Jason Bourne also had some legendary scenes of Matt Damon strolling through the warrenlike streets of Little Venice, the most popular neighborhood of Mykonos.
