12th Aegina Fistiki Fest
Where: Aegina
When: 16 - 19 September 2021
The most popular and delicious product of Aegina, the pistachio nut, has its own honorary event! The annual Fistiki festival is inspired this year by the 200-year anniversary of the Greek revolution, and its poster depicts a traditional tsarouchi shoe that is adorned by a pistachio cluster instead of a tassel.

The trade fair will start on Thursday, September 16, at 10 am at the port. The itinerary includes children's workshops, ceramics exhibitions, theatrical performances, children's gastronomy classes, table tennis tournaments, chess tournaments, art workshops, music concerts and more. During the festival, restaurants will enrich their menus with savory and sweet creations based on -what else? - the pistachio. It is worth noting that pre-festival events take place on the island throughout September, such as painting and sculpture exhibitions, the International Sculpture Symposium as well as music concerts.

Where: Spetses

Eight female artists were invited to design their own flag, inspired by the flag of Laskarina Bouboulina. The bicentenary anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 inspired this group exhibition that wishes to create new symbols through looking back at history.

The flag exhibition will be visible to anyone near or on the beach of Agios Nikolaos, right next to the port. After the end of the exhibition, the flags will remain as a legacy at the Bouboulina Museum, while an educational program will be implemented for a class of the primary school of Spetses.

1st Festival of Gialos
Where: Samos
When: 3 - 19 September 2021
In Marathokampos bay, 45 km from the port of Samos, a special festival for children and adults will be held for the very first time this year. 14 different events focused on puppetry and shadow theater will be completed by different educational workshops. The festival is organized by the Landscaping and Cultural Association of "Agios Nikolaos".

14th Rhodes International Festival
Where: Rhodes
When: 7 - 13 September 2021
Can you think of anything better for early September than to find yourself at the Palace of the Grand Master attending music events? The Medieval City of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, welcomes music lovers to an event of international caliber: An opera dedicated to the 200 year anniversary of the Greek Revolution, a tribute to Maria Callas, a concert with George Theofanous, just to name a few of the events that will be enjoyed by everyone on the cosmopolitan island of the Dodecanese. You see, admission is free, however, reservation is required.

Crete Festival
Where: Crete
When: 3 - 11 September 2021
Crete is a destination that holds many surprises all year round and promises its visitors unforgettable memories. If you find yourself on the island during September, don't miss the events that take place in various prefectures, especially planned to highlight the cultural monuments and archaeological sites of the island. While most visitors rush off to the exotic beaches of Elafonissi and Matala, or stroll around the city of Rethymnon and take the kids to the Cretaquarium, this month you have so much more to look forward to. For the first time this year, the Region of Crete organizes the "Festival of Crete" and the events are as follows:

September 3-5: "What is above is what is below and the sky is a mirror reflecting back at the world" at the Armeni Late Minoan Cemetery, very close to Rethymnon: Video and audio installations will attempt to indroduce the visitors to the symbolism of the space.
September 8: Mediterranean Music concert with Amma duet - Inland, at Koules Fortress, Aptera, Chania.

September 9: Music event with epi at Koules Fortress, Aptera, Chania.
September 10: Concert with Theodore Voutsikakis at the Venetian Fortress in Firkas, Chania.

Cinema under the stars - 2 days with the 21st French Film Festival of Greece
Where: Chania, Crete
When: September 8-9, 2021
French cinema is disembarking at Chania for a two-day festival that will be presenting 2 films on their first public screening. The event will take place at the Municipal Cinema Kipos and is co-organized by the Chania Film Festival and the Festival du Film Francophone. The two movies are:

On September 9, "The girl with the bracelet (La fille au bracelet)", by Stéphane Demoustier.

5th Chaniartoon festival
Where: Chania, Crete
When: 13 - 28 September 2021
This international comics and animation event returns this year (it was postponed due to the pandemic). Art meets technology in the multicultural city of Chania that has so much more to share with visitors apart from history and tradition. To name just a few of the delights the festival has in store for us: Short and feature films will be screened at the Kipos Municipal Cinema while a tribute to the Contemporary Polish Animation – Mediterranima will be held, as well as animation screenings from Italy, Cyprus and Greece and a night where the audience will get to vote and decide who will win the awards.

Noir comics and screenings of short and feature films, will be presented at the Mikis Theodorakis Theater.
At the Center for Mediterranean Architecture, comics artists from all over Greece will take part in an exhibition while virtual reality and projection mapping events will take place. Workshops for children and adults will be held every day in various spots around town.

Animated Connotations
Where: Naxos
When: until September 26th
The artist Nikos Moschos presents 18 of his works in Bazeos tower, including paintings from galleries and private collections as well as two new sculptures. The event is part of the Naxos Festival 2021.
